Increase on Minimum Wages for 2026

On December 3rd, 2025, the National Minimum Wage Committee approved an increase on the minimum wages for next year.

The National Minimum Wage Commission has determined that the minimum wage shall be increased by 5% for the Northern Border Free Zone, and by 13% for the rest of the country (consisting of MXN $17.01 as an Independent Recovery Amount and an actual percentage increase of 6.5%).

Therefore, the daily general minimum wage for 2026 will increase from $278.80 Mexican Pesos (approx. US$15.07) to $315.04 Mexican Pesos (approx. US$17.03).

For the northern border area, the daily general minimum wage will increase from $419.88 Mexican pesos (approx. US$22.70) to $440.87 Mexican pesos (approx. US$23.83).

It is worth mentioning that as of January 1st, 2026, all employees must have a salary equal or higher than the increased minimum wage.
