{"id":1832,"date":"2024-09-03T19:52:08","date_gmt":"2024-09-03T19:52:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ibarrapg.com\/?p=1832"},"modified":"2026-04-06T18:49:52","modified_gmt":"2026-04-06T18:49:52","slug":"update-of-the-mexico-city-tourism-registry","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ibarrapg.com\/en\/update-of-the-mexico-city-tourism-registry\/","title":{"rendered":"Update of the Mexico City Tourism Registry"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The purpose of this note is to inform you about the <strong><em>\u201cNOTICE ANNOUNCING THE UPDATE OF THE &#8220;MEXICO CITY TOURISM REGISTRY&#8221; PROCEDURE, RANTED BY THE MEXICO CITY TOURISM MINISTRY.\u201d<\/em><\/strong> published in the Official Gazette of Mexico City on August 5th, 2024, which became effective the day after its publication (the &#8220;<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Notice<\/span>&#8220;).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The <strong>purpose<\/strong> of the new Notice is to update and standardize the process of the Tourism Registry in Mexico City (the &#8220;<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Registry<\/span>&#8220;), which is the registration made by the <strong>tourist service provider<\/strong> (<em>individual or legal entity that offers, provides or contracts with the tourist, the provision of services, including those contracted through technological platforms<\/em>) established in Mexico City on a <strong>voluntary<\/strong> manner, in order to provide certainty of information to consumers and companies.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It is done virtually in the <em>Portal CDMX<\/em>, and the onlyrequirement is to have the Certificate of Registration in the National Tourism Registry issued by the <strong>Ministry of Tourism<\/strong> (<em>at the federal level<\/em>). Once the registration is issued, it will be valid for 2 years.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This Notice is a crucial step for the effective implementation of the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ibarrapg.com\/en\/april-04th-2024-amendment-and-addition-of-sundry-provisions-to-the-federal-district-tourism-law-now-mexico-city\/\">Amendment and Addition of Various Dispositions to the Mexico City Tourism Law<\/a> <\/strong>(the &#8220;<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Amendment<\/span>&#8220;), which established new obligations and requirements for tourism service providers (<em>especially those related to digital lodging platforms<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The updating of the Registry, through the Notice, along with the Amendment is a <strong>reflection of the local government&#8217;s ongoing efforts<\/strong> to more effectively regulate and oversee the tourism market in the Capital.
