He is a Partner in the Firm and Chair of the Intellectual Property (IP) Practice Group. Here, he advises clients on complex IP matters with a strategic approach aimed at protecting economic and intangible interests, along with portfolio analysis and management.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As a member of the Dispute Resolution Practice of the Firm, he handles and prosecutes all kinds of matters related to trademarks, patents, trade names, copyright, domain names, within the framework of judicial, civil, criminal, and administrative litigation before the relevant authorities and courts.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He also has a leading role, as chair, in the Life Sciences Practice Group of the Firm, where he oversees relevant aspects of the pharmaceutical, chemical, technological, and food and beverage industries.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Juan works closely with the Corporate, M&amp;A, and Transactional practices of the Firm in protecting, assessing, and negotiating IP rights in transfers and dispositions, as well as with our Civil, Commercial, and Labor Litigation practices in preparing and enforcing sophisticated non-compete and non-disclosure agreements.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He also acts as a Mediator for Intellectual Property Disputes before the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).<\/p>\n<h6 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Professional Background<\/h6>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Before joining the Firm, Juan had over twenty-five years of experience in Intellectual Property, starting at leading IP boutiques in Mexico, such as Olivares &amp; C\u00eda (1997-1998), Clarke Modet (1999-2002), Arochi &amp; Lindner (2002-2005), Cervantes Sainz (Partner, 2005-2011), where he led the IP practice, and Ocampo 1890, S.C. He has taught at Universidad An\u00e1huac Law School (Mexico City), Universidad An\u00e1huac de Xalapa MBA Program (Xalapa, Mexico) and the Centro de Estudios Profesionales Fray Bartolom\u00e9 de las Casas MBA Program (Tuxtla Guti\u00e9rrez, Chiapas).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Currently, Juan is a professor at the Law School of Universidad An\u00e1huac, the Master in Intellectual Property program of the Universidad Panamericana (UP) Law School at the Mexico City and Aguascalientes campuses, and a collaborator with the iLab Business Hub in Xalapa, Veracruz.<\/p>\n<h6 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Academic Background<\/h6>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>1998, at Universidad An\u00e1huac (Mexico City), he obtained his Law Degree (J.D.\/LLB Equivalent).<\/li>\n<li>1999, at Universidad de Alicante (Spain), he obtained a Master\u2019s Degree in Intellectual Property.<\/li>\n<li>2000, at Instituto Tecnol\u00f3gico Aut\u00f3nomo de M\u00e9xico (ITAM), he completed a post-graduate specialization program in Intellectual Property.<\/li>\n<li>2023, at Harvard Law School, he participated in the first edition of the Executive Education \u201cSmart Collaboration\u201d Master Class, taught by Professor Heidi K.
