Emilio has advised foreign and domestic clients on tax matters, with a focus on high-impact litigation before tax authorities, administrative courts, Taxpayers Ombudsman, as well as in amparo proceedings.
He has advised companies across various sectors, such as automotive, energy, technology, pharmaceutical, tourism, oil, cosmetics, food, among others.
On the subject of Administrative Law, he has advised companies in bidding procedures, government incentives, and defense against investigations initiated by the Financial Intelligence Unit and other authorities.
Professional Background
Before joining the Firm, Emilio worked at Sánchez Devanny Eseverri (Garrigues), where he strengthened his skills and experience in Tax, Administrative, and Social Security Litigation.
Emilio’s experience spans from handling and negotiating tax audits prior to issuance of tax assessments, to litigating complex matters through nullity claims and amparo trials, as well as negotiating with tax authorities and defending companies in Financial Intelligence Unit investigations.
He previously served as counsel at the Large Taxpayers Litigation Administration of the Mexican Tax Administration Service (SAT), where he represented the tax authorities in high profile matters. After this, he was a member of Chevez Ruiz Zamarripa.
